Purpose Statement

The committee is tasked with overseeing the operation of the SAIIPL’s .za Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) system, which applies to domain name disputes in the.co.za, .net.za,. web.za, and .org.za namespaces in terms of the ADR Regulations promulgated under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act. Goals

• Contributing to the safety and integrity of the local internet ecosystem through operating a well-functioning, efficient and independent domain name disputes resolution system.

• Offering cost-effective and time-efficient resolution to domain name disputes in the .za namespace.

• Training adjudicators and trainee adjudicators.

• Promoting awareness and recognition of the .za ADR system locally and internationally.

• Consulting and engaging with technical intermediaries such as registrars and the .za registry to ensure the effective operation of the .za ADR system.

• Consulting and engaging with authorities such as ZADNA on the operation of the .za ADR system and any improvements that may be required.
